How to connect your Alpaca account to Stax

Verified

Alpaca hands trade history straight to Stax, so your journal fills itself as you trade — and because the fills come from the broker, Stax signs them and they carry the verified badge. Read-only access is all Stax asks for — it reads your fill history and can never place an order.

In Alpaca
  1. Log in at alpaca.markets and open your dashboard's API Keys section.

  2. Generate a new pair and copy both the Key ID and the Secret Key.

  3. Note which account the pair belongs to. Paper keys work only against paper, live keys only against live — Alpaca keeps the two worlds apart.

In Stax
  1. In the left sidebar, open Connections.

  2. Click Add Connection.

  3. In Select Connection, search for Alpaca and click it. Three cards open: Auto-Sync, Import CSV File and Add Manually.

  4. Choose the Auto-Sync card.

  5. Paste the API Key ID and Secret Key, choose live or paper under Environment, then click Connect.
