Your data, your control.
Stax is built offline-first. Start completely private on your own machine, and only move to the cloud — encrypted and access-controlled — if and when you want sync and teams.
Offline-first & local-only
Choose local-only mode and your entire journal stays on your device — no account, no upload. Your trades never leave your machine unless you opt into cloud sync.
Encrypted in the cloud
When you enable cloud sync, data is encrypted at rest and protected by row-level security, so each account only ever sees its own data.
Read-only broker access
Broker connections are read-only. Stax reads your trade history to import it — it can never place trades, move funds, or change anything in your account.
You control what you share
In Trader mode you decide exactly what a mentor sees — share what you want, keep the rest private, and disconnect at any time. The one exception is a Team account: in an oversight group your full journal (every sheet and setup) is visible to the team, because that seat belongs to the organisation.
Secure billing
Payments are handled by a PCI-compliant payment provider. Stax never sees or stores your card details.
Export & delete anytime
Your data is yours: export to CSV with no lock-in, and delete your account whenever you choose, with a grace window to recover.
Security FAQ
Does my trading data leave my computer?
Not in local-only mode — everything stays on your device. Only if you enable cloud sync is data sent to encrypted storage.
Can Stax trade on my behalf?
No. Broker connections are read-only; Stax imports your trade history and cannot place orders or move funds.
What can a mentor or team see?
In Trader mode, only what you choose to share — and you can disconnect at any time. Under a Team account's oversight group, your full journal and setups are visible to the team, because that seat belongs to the organisation.
